Who Trade Show Photography Is Actually For
The show organizer commissions it. Meanwhile the exhibitors are who it has to satisfy, and they judge it on whether their booth appears.
Trade show photography is not general event coverage on a bigger floor. Every company that paid for space expects photographic proof of it, and that expectation shows up during renewal season rather than during the show. Therefore booth coverage runs to a tiered list drawn from the floor plan.
Elevation covers trade shows and expos across Los Angeles, Anaheim, Long Beach, and San Diego. For multi-hall convention programs see convention photography, or start at Corporate Event Photographer Los Angeles. Exhibition standards are published by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events.

The Shot List
What Trade Show Photography Delivers
Six asset types come off an exhibit floor. Consequently the list gets built from who needs what, rather than from a generic template.
Booth Sets, Clean and Occupied
Each booth shot empty before doors open, then again with staff and visitors engaged. Both versions get used, because one sells the build and the other sells the traffic.
Floor Atmosphere at Peak
Wide frames establishing scale and density. Therefore these get taken during peak hours rather than the morning lull, when aisles read as empty and the show looks underattended.
Product and Demo Detail
Close coverage of what is being shown and who is watching. Because exhibitors reuse these in their own marketing for months, they carry the longest useful life of anything on the floor.
Keynote and Theater Sessions
Stage coverage from multiple positions, plus the reverse showing a full house. Meanwhile the audience frame is what sells next year's exhibitor prospectus.
Sponsor Signage and Branding
Banners, wayfinding, lanyards, and stage branding documented as delivered. Consequently the sponsor fulfilment report writes itself instead of requiring a scramble afterward.
On-Site Headshots
A backdrop station adjacent to the floor at $299 per day. Therefore exhibitors and attendees leave with updated portraits. See event headshots.
Conditions
Why Trade Show Photography Is Technically Harder Than It Looks
An exhibit hall is the least forgiving lighting environment in corporate work, and it is uniform enough that nobody notices until the gallery arrives.
Hall light is flat and mixed. Overhead fixtures give even, reliable, entirely uninteresting illumination. Meanwhile every booth brings its own lighting at a different color temperature, so a single frame can carry three sources. Therefore supplemental light on priority booths is what separates a usable sponsor set from a washed one.
LED walls alias. High-density panels produce moire at certain shutter and distance combinations. Consequently that gets tested during setup rather than discovered in post, where it cannot be removed.
Backgrounds are never clean. A booth photographed straight on picks up three competing brands behind it. Therefore angle and focal length do the work that a controlled set would otherwise do.
We field seven photographers and five videographers, each a corporate specialist with a minimum of three years at the studio. So a multi-hall show gets a crew that has worked together rather than freelancers assembled for the week.

Rates and Delivery
Photography is $245 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Meanwhile videography runs $345 per hour and a mobile headshot backdrop is $299 per day. There is no travel premium anywhere in Southern California, which matters on a multi-day show in Anaheim or San Diego.
Edited highlights arrive within 24 hours so your press team can publish while the floor is still open. Subsequently the complete gallery follows within one week, segmented by exhibitor, with full commercial usage rights. Full detail sits on the pricing page.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you make sure every exhibitor gets covered?
We build a tiered booth list from the floor plan before doors open. Each booth is shot clean and again with traffic. Therefore platinum and gold exhibitors are covered first, and nobody discovers a gap when renewals come around.
How many photographers does a trade show need?
Crew follows the floor plan rather than the attendee count. A single hall with one theater track works with one photographer. Meanwhile concurrent sessions or multiple halls need a second, because nobody can hold two rooms at once.
Why do booths need supplemental lighting?
Overhead hall fixtures are flat, and every booth brings its own lighting at a different color temperature. Consequently priority booths get supplemental light so the sponsor set looks deliberate rather than mixed and washed.
How is a trade show gallery delivered?
Segmented by exhibitor, by day, and by session so each party receives only what applies to them. Edited highlights arrive within 24 hours for press use during the show. Subsequently the complete gallery follows within one week.
What does trade show photography cost?
Photography is $245 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Meanwhile videography is $345 per hour and a mobile headshot backdrop is $299 per day. Multi-day shows bill on total coverage hours, and there is no travel premium in Southern California.
Do exhibitors get their own images?
Yes. The gallery is split so each exhibitor receives their booth set without sorting through the whole show. Therefore that structure is agreed before the event rather than sorted afterward, when nobody has time.
