Newport Beach’s Pendry Hotel came alive with a New Year’s Eve celebration — coastal views, live music, and the atmosphere that sets the tone for a year ahead. Elevation Event Photography covered the evening from arrivals through midnight.
An Evening at Pendry Newport Beach
Arrivals and reception. The evening opened with a champagne toast. Our photographers worked the room as guests mingled, capturing candid conversation and genuine reaction against Pendry’s interiors and coastal setting.
Culinary presentation. Passed hors d’oeuvres and a full dessert spread, both documented as presented. Food photography at a live event is its own timing problem — plated presentations look their best for a narrow window before service begins, so detail coverage happens on a schedule rather than opportunistically.
Live entertainment. A DJ accompanied by an instrumentalist and percussionist carried the night. Performance coverage at an evening event means working with atmospheric lighting rather than against it, preserving the mood the venue built while still delivering sharp, usable frames of both performers and crowd.
The moments that get shared. Group photos, animated conversation, and the countdown itself — the frames that get posted, framed, and revisited. Each happens once.
Photographing at Pendry Newport Beach
Pendry Newport Beach is a coastal property with genuine Pacific views, which is both its appeal and its photographic challenge. Daylight-facing spaces mean mixed colour temperature when interior lighting runs alongside window light — a problem solved at capture, not in post.
For an evening event, the transition from dusk to full dark changes the room’s character over the course of an hour. Coverage plans account for shooting the space early and again once the atmosphere has settled, because the room a guest walks into and the room at midnight are two different photographs.
Why venue experience matters
A photographer who knows a venue walks in already understanding its light, its flow, and its best angles. That knowledge is the difference between coverage that keeps up with the event and coverage that misses the moments that matter.
We photograph across Orange County and Los Angeles regularly, so we arrive prepared for the room rather than learning it on the day.
Private & Corporate Event Photography in Orange County
Whether it’s a New Year’s celebration, a corporate holiday party, or a private brand event, coverage is planned around the arc of the evening and how the imagery will be used afterward — not delivered as an undifferentiated archive.
